Early detection saves lives. According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer over the course of her lifetime and 90% of breast cancers develop from acquired gene changes unrelated to family history. Screening mammograms save lives through early diagnosis and treatment.
TriHealth follows the American College of Radiology recommending annual screening mammograms beginning at age 40. For women at a higher risk of breast cancer, annual screening can begin at age 30.
