Early detection saves lives. According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer over the course of her lifetime and 90% of breast cancers develop from acquired gene changes unrelated to family history. Screening mammograms save lives through early diagnosis and treatment.
TriHealth follows the American College of Radiology recommending annual screening mammograms beginning at age 40. For women at a higher risk of breast cancer, annual screening can begin at age 30. Our Breast Health Navigator Program offers supportive and specially trained nurses who advocate on a patient’s behalf. They guide each person through the emotional and physical journey of diagnosis and treatment, helping coordinate procedures to ensure timely, appropriate care and supporting patients throughout treatment.
TriHealth’s High-Risk Breast Program brings together experts in cancer prevention and detection as a resource for our patients. This program provides personalized cancer risk review, education, and individualized screening plans.
