Caitlyn Zinn, DO, found medicine intriguing as a career because it combined science and helping people. Working as a biologist at the Centers for Disease Control researching the causes of cervical cancer, she developed an interest in women’s health. She then chose to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology to help, empower and advocate for women.
Dr. Zinn provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care for women, age 16 and older. Trained in surgical procedures, she is especially interested in minimally invasive and robotic procedures. She supports mothers who choose a low-intervention or natural birth. She also helps mothers with postpartum care and breastfeeding.
Committed to listening and understanding her patients’ concerns, Dr. Zinn creates a warm and caring environment based on shared decision-making using the most current evidence. She enjoys being the first to hold someone’s baby and to be part of that special moment. She finds it humbling to guide her patients through difficult times as well.
Dr. Zinn likes spending time with her husband and new baby, trying new restaurants and exploring area parks. Last year, she volunteered on a medical mission to Tanzania, providing health care to women in the shadow of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
