Dr. Muhammad Umair Khawar comes to TriHealth after
serving five years as assistant professor in pulmonary and
critical care medicine and as associate director for the
cystic fibrosis program at the University of Cincinnati. He
has extensive clinical and research expertise related to
bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung diseases,
pulmonary vascular disorders, evaluation of lung
mass/cancer, advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease (COPD) and complex asthma treatment, including
the use of newer biological therapies.
Dr. Khawar sees adult patients for respiratory system
disease and also treats critically ill patients in the intensive
care unit. He listens carefully to his patients and tailors
treatments to suit their needs and expectations. He assures
that patients are well educated on the disease process by
explaining complex topics in simple terms. He likes to build
long‑lasting relationships with his patients. He encourages
everyone to get daily exercise to benefit health and mind.
Originally from Pakistan, Dr. Khawar is married to a
physician and has two children. He loves to travel and
spend time with his family, play tennis, swim and collect
watches. Passionate about equitable health care delivery,
he is involved with several related nonprofit organizations.
