Many childhood influences played a role in Dr. Lubna Bashir Munshi’s desire to become a doctor. Growing up in a literate environment, she watched her father treat his patients with dignity. In school she was taught to follow the footsteps of Mother Teresa and Florence Nightingale. She discovered a passion to help patients with chronic diseases, leading her to specialize in endocrinology.
Dr. Munshi diagnoses and treats hormone-related diseases like disorders of the thyroid, adrenals, pituitary as well as diabetes. Her special interest is in treating hyperthyroidism (Graves’ disease). She believes in educating and having open and honest conversations with her patients.
Dr. Munshi served as an assistant professor at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She is a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (FACE), a prestigious honor bestowed by the AACE to recognize her achievement and leadership in clinical endocrinology. She has presented at leading conferences and published in professional journals.
Dr. Munshi is a family person – a mother, a wife, a daughter and a sister. She tries to keep life balanced. She likes to spent time with her family, painting, cooking and trying recipes from all over the world.
