We offer maternal transport services to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Obstetrics Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital for women experiencing high-risk pregnancies.
The Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Good Samaritan is a Level III nursery obtaining the highest ranking in services for maternity and newborns as determined by the Vermont/Oxford database, 2010.
Patients requiring admission during their pregnancy are admitted to the Special Care Obstetrics Unit on the 9th floor of Good Samaritan. This unit is a dedicated antepartum floor solely reserved for high-risk pregnancies. The nursing staff are specifically trained to care for high-risk pregnancies. We receive maternal transports with pregnancy complications from the Tri-State area (OH, KY, IN), and beyond for our Fetal Care Center patients who relocate to Cincinnati for delivery of their baby.
Obstetricians may transfer their patients for hospitalized care to the maternal-fetal medicine specialist by calling Labor & Delivery Triage at (513) 862-2333. It is recommended that the patient be managed in a level III hospital for maternity services, if hospitalization is necessary due to the possibility of a preterm birth prior to 32 weeks gestation.
