The Mary Jo Cropper Family Center for Breast Care is the only local breast center accredited by the prestigious National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). We use the most advanced equipment, including 3D digital tomosynthesis, a cutting-edge breast imaging procedure that provides greater accuracy and increased detection of breast cancer.
The $24.5 million project to open the center in 2009 – which also included renovation of inpatient radiology services within Bethesda North Hospital – was funded in part by generous donations from the community and Bethesda team members, physicians and volunteers. The Bethesda Foundation raised $3.3 million toward the center.
