As part of our commitment to enhance women’s health care, we offer a number of In-Office Procedures for our patients. Many of these procedures allow for the patient to resume her normal activities the next day.
Laparoscopic Surgery - This type of surgery is minimally invasive, and uses small incisions instead of large ones, resulting in quicker recovery, less scarring, and less pain.
daVinci Robotic Surgery - Robot-assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System may be the most effective, least invasive treatment option. Through tiny, 1-2 cm incisions, surgeons using the da Vinci System can operate with greater precision and control, minimizing the pain and risk associated with large incisions while increasing the likelihood of a fast recovery and excellent clinical outcomes.
Hysteroscopy - Our doctors use this procedure to examine the inside of the cervix and uterus. This procedure can be used to take biopsies, remove polyps or fibroids, and more. Your physician can perform a hysteroscopy in the office under local anesthesia, or in the hospital under general anesthesia.
Minimally Invasive Surgery Laparoscopic Hysterectomy - The LSH procedure uses a thin, lighted telescope-like instrument called a laparoscope, which acts like a video camera, along with small surgical instruments that are all inserted through three to four tiny incisions (less than ¼ inch each) in the navel and abdomen. Using the instruments, the surgeon carefully separates the uterus from the cervix and removes it through one of the openings. The cervix, the bottom part of the uterus, is left intact. Because this type of surgery does not require the surgeon to make a large abdominal incision, you will not have the same kind of visible scar typical with most traditional, “open” surgeries.
Endometrial Ablation - Heavy bleeding is a problem for many women at different stages of their lives, including women who have had a tubal ligation (had their “tubes tied”), women who have been prescribed hormones and have stopped taking them, or women approaching menopause. This procedure is used to ablate the lining of your uterus with the goal of reducing menstrual flow. This procedure can be done in our office, or at the hospital under general anesthesia.
Endosee Advance - Our physicians use the all-in-one Endosee device as a diagnostic tool to see the inside of your uterus quickly and easily, right in the office. Endosee helps find the cause of several common issues women face such as abnormal bleeding and infertility concerns.
LEEP Procedure - for abnormal pap (cervical dysplasia) - Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) is a treatment to remove precancerous cells from the cervix, helping to stop them from developing into cervical cancer. The procedure uses a small wire loop that is attached to an electrical current. When the loop is passed over cervical tissue, it cuts away a layer of abnormal cells. We perform LEEP procedures in our office.
