We recognize you may prefer a private room. There are times when our hospital does not have enough private rooms to meet all requests. Priority is given to patients with diseases that require them to be in private rooms to protect them and/or others. If you request a private room but one is not available, you will be placed on a waiting list. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Telephone and television services automatically are provided to you at your bedside for a daily charge. If you do NOT want to be charged for telephone/television service, call (513) 862-4800, or 24800 if calling from your hospital bedside. Local calls are made by dialing 9, then the seven-digit number.
One minimal daily charge for both local telephone and television services will be billed to your home telephone bill. The charges for telephone and television will appear on your next home telephone bill on a separate bill page as the line item HOSP TEL CHG. There is a maximum charge per hospital stay. There are additional charges for long distance calls made from your hospital room phone, which will be more expensive than regular long distance. If you need assistance or have questions about making long distance calls, contact the hospital operator. Outpatients, observation patients and patients in ICU, CCU or Labor and Delivery will not be billed for local telephone and television service.
For questions about turning off telephone/television service, call (513) 862-4800, or for questions about your bill, call (800) 775-8352.
You will receive a selective menu according to your nutritional needs as ordered by your physician. Please inform your nurse or dietary clerk of any religious or special dietary needs.
Nutrition Services has implemented a new “Catering to You” program. A catering associate is assigned to each floor and is responsible for individual patient dietary needs. You can also contact the Nutrition Services Manager at (513) 865-4888 with any questions, concerns or suggestions regarding your meal or the service received. This manager is available daily from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Some rooms are centrally heated and air-conditioned. If you do not have a thermostat in your room and the temperature of your room is not comfortable, please notify a member of the nursing staff.
Your hospital bed is adjustable for your comfort. A nurse will explain how to operate the bed. Beds include rails, which are there for your protection. They may be raised at night and during the day if you are resting, recovering from surgery or taking certain medications.
Bed linens will be changed when your caregiver determines it is necessary or when specifically requested by you or your family.
While you can use cell phones in most areas of the hospital, please be aware that in some areas, they are not permitted.
Your physician, nurse and other hospital staff will be working together to develop a discharge plan especially for you. When you are discharged, we ask that you leave the hospital by 11 a.m., providing that you have the services, care and transportation ready at that time.
