During his college years, Dr. Travez gained a lot of unplanned experience with medicine after his father was diagnosed with terminal cancer. That experience, paired with his lifelong desire to help people, guided him to become a physician. He chose internal medicine because he likes the leading role internists take on the medical team, listening to patients and bringing the right specialists together to solve problems. He embraces his medical school’s emphasis on giving back to the community by helping people lead healthy lives.
Dr. Travez sees patients 18 and older for the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. He believes in building trusting relationships by getting to know his patients well. He wants people to feel comfortable opening up about difficult topics.He encourages everyone to ask for help when something doesn’t feel right.
Born and raised in New York, Dr. Travez grew up speaking both English and Spanish with his Ecuadorian parents. He plays trumpet and considers music his first passion. He also practices Brazilian jiu jitsu.
