Dr. Regina Rae Whitfield Kekessi MD, MPH, FACOG is a board-certified Obstetrician & Gynecologist (OB/GYN). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology (Cum Laude) from Xavier University in New Orleans, LA and her Master’s in Public Health from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Whitfield Kekessi worked in the field of public health for four years before returning to school to earn her Medical Degree from the prestigious Rush University Medical College in Chicago, IL. She completed her OBGYN internship and residency at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine; Dayton, OH.
With over 17 years of experience, Dr. Whitfield Kekessi cares for women throughout their reproductive journeys. She also specializes in minimally invasive procedures including Da Vinci to provide complete overall health services to women at every stage of life. In 2017, she received the Vitals Patients' Choice award - a recognition which reflects the impact a particular physician has made in the lives of his or her patients. The coveted honor is bestowed to physicians who have received near perfect reviews and scores, as voted by patients. In 2019 and again in 2021, she was voted one of Cincinnati Magazine’s Top Doctors.
Paired with diligence, compassion, and high-touch bedside manner, Dr. Whitfield Kekessi cares for her patients through supportive coaching and counseling. It is very important to her that she provides a welcoming environment for all of her patients including those living with HIV/AIDS, members of the LGBTQIA community, and those in recovery. Dr. Whitfield Kekessi is certified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (SAMHSA/CSAT) as an Opioid Treatment Provider.
Dr. Whitfield Kekessi has served in various leadership capacities. Currently, she is a board member of the Academy of Medicine of Cincinnati Foundation as well as a member of the Ohio Delegation to the American Medical Association. Dr. Whitfield Kekessi is a devoted wife, a caring mother of one, and one who lives by the mantra “every day is a new day to make a change”.
