Nima Patel, MD, MS, FACOG is a board-certified gynecologist with a focus in Minimally Invasive Surgery practicing with TriHealth Advanced Gynecologic Surgery. She is also the Program Director for the TriHealth/Good Samaritan Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program.
After completing her undergraduate work at the University of California, Riverside, Dr. Patel earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at Marshall University School of Medicine, Huntington, WV, and her fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA during which she won the IRCAD Award for Excellence in Education.
Dr. Patel’s professional interests include providing fertility-sparing and minimally-invasive treatment options, including laparoscopic and robotic hysterectomy and myomectomy as well as operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, to patients with abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, fibroids, endometriosis and adnexal masses. She strives to promote innovation and technology and empower women to maximize their health. Her research interests include management of anemia and bleeding in the presence of fibroids, benefits of minimally-invasive surgery for women, minimizing opioid utilization, improving patient education and awareness, and the use of simulation for medical education.
Dr. Patel is actively involved in national organizations including the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), the Association of Professors of Gynecologists & Obstetricians (APGO), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and the Society of Reproductive Investigation (SRI).
