About Me

Conditions I specialize in
  • Otolaryngology

For as long as he can remember, Mark Deutsch, MD, wanted to become a doctor. As a child, he joined family members who practiced medicine on their patient rounds and experienced firsthand the impact of a doctor's work. Today, as a board-certified otolaryngologist, Dr. Deutsch treats his patients with the same level of compassionate care and medical expertise as he would a member of his own family.

Dr. Deutsch provides medical and surgical treatment for pediatric and adult patients with Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) issues. He enjoys improving his patients' quality of life by providing solutions to problems related to senses of hearing, taste, smell and voice. He encourages patients to abstain from smoking, attain an ideal body weight and, for those with hearing issues, to diminish noise exposure. Dr. Deutsch's practice focus includes:

  • Pediatric and adult ENT (ear, nose, throat issues)
  • Head and neck surgery (e.g. thyroid and parathyroid surgery, head and neck cancer, tonsillectomy)
  • Sinus and nasal airway surgery
  • Allergy treatment
  • Obstructive sleep apnea

Since 1998, Dr. Deutsch has served as chair of the Division of Otolaryngology for Bethesda Hospitals. In his free time, he enjoys racquetball, art and travel.
