Dr. Spreen MD is a Board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist for TriHealth Premier Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her interests include routine and high-risk obstetrics, basic infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, robotic- assisted gynecological surgery (she is a Davinci Certified Surgeon), and general gynecology for women of all ages, from adolescent through the menopause years. She provides a broad range of gynecologic services, including contraceptive counseling and prescriptions, as well as placement of long acting contraceptive devices. Dr. Spreen initially received her bachelor’s degree in dietetics through Indiana University. She enjoys finding both traditional medicine solutions as well as complimentary and alternative medicine treatments for her patients It is important to her that each patient feels seen and heard, leaving their appointment knowing that their concerns were addressed.
While in medical school she discovered a love for surgery and continued her training in residency to become one of the earliest residents from Trihealth to graduate with Robotic Surgery privileges She is listed as one of Intuitive Surgical top local gynecology providers (https://www.intuitive.com/en-us/provider-locator) and she has performed over 300 robotic assisted surgeries since 2012, including hysterectomy, removal of fibroids, as well as tubal and ovarian surgeries.
Dr. Spreen really enjoys forming a strong patient-physician relationship and discussing all treatment options with patients including both medical and surgical options. She finds prenatal care very rewarding and enjoys the bond she has formed with her patients by the time delivery occurs. She also found that there is nothing in the world like helping to deliver a new baby safely into a mother’s arms.
Dr. Spreen was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She earned her bachelor's degree and her doctorate in medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at TriHealth's Good Samaritan and Bethesda North hospitals in 2014. She is a fellow with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Dr. Spreen has received her certification from the American Board of OB/Gyn. After residency, Dr. Spreen was an Active Duty Naval Officer, serving at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for 5 years. There she enjoyed serving military members and their dependents in the area of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
In her personal life, Dr. Spreen enjoys spending time with her family, including her two daughters. She is an animal lover, a Reds, Bengals and Indiana Hoosiers fan, and enjoys traveling and cooking in her spare time.
