Important Update: Two-Factor Authentication for TriHealth MyChart Accounts

Starting May 18, 2025, All Accounts Will Enable Extra Security

TriHealth is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of security and patient confidentiality. As part of this commitment, we are pleased to announce a significant upgrade to our Epic system, which will enhance the security features of TriHealth MyChart accounts. Beginning SundayMay 18, two-factor authentication (2FA) will be required for all users.

What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Two-factor authentication is an additional layer of security designed to ensure that people trying to gain access to an online account are indeed who they say they are. It requires not only a password and username but also something that only the user has on them, such as a code sent via SMS or email.

Why is this Change Happening?

The implementation of 2FA is part of a larger Epic system upgrade aimed at improving the security and functionality of our digital health services. This measure is being taken to protect sensitive patient information and to ensure that all our users can access their accounts safely and securely.

What You Need to Do

Starting Sunday, May 18, 2025, when you log into your MyChart account, you will be prompted to set up two-factor authentication. This process is straightforward and involves linking your account to a mobile device or selecting another form of verification. Detailed instructions will be provided to guide you through this setup.

Set-Up Resources

TriHealth MyChart patients can enable two-factor authentication before the overall update happens on May 18. View the Epic Video Link HERE for an easy walk through tutorial. We have also created Tip Sheets for those enabling two-factor authentication before May 18 and for those who are required to enable two-factor authentication after May 18.

The upcoming activation of two-factor authentication for TriHealth MyChart accounts is a vital step in safeguarding your personal health information.
