In a response to the growing complexity of health care, TriHealth is offering a six-week course on modern healthcare topics called 'Mini Medical School.' The classes meet on Monday nights from 6:30 to 8:30pm at TriHealth's Bethesda North Hospital starting April 2 and ending May 7.

The goal of the innovative concept is to empower consumers with the necessary knowledge to effectively manage their care and communicate with their doctors. Mini Medical School is made possible by a grant through the Bethesda Foundation.

"If you understand the basics of medicine, the better informed you become about your health and the more easily you can discuss your or a family member’s medical condition," said Pamela Baird, Seniority membership coordinator for TriHealth. "This is the perfect chance to experience medical school - with less expense and a much shorter time commitment!"

Each session is taught by a team of expert physicians and health professionals, and covers a range of topics to help attendees gain greater insight into their health and learn more about the latest advancements in medical care.  Some topics include “The Beat Goes On: Cardiovascular and Circulatory Systems,” and “Urgent, Emergent and Trauma: Emergency Medicine."

The TriHealth Mini Medical School will be held at Bethesda North Hospital on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the following dates: April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, and May 7. Cost for the entire six-week series is $30.
