TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital Designated Comprehensive Stroke Center

TriHealth’s Good Samaritan Hospital has been designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center (CSC) by The Joint Commission. This certification is the highest designation awarded by The Joint Commission for stroke care.

“This is another example of TriHealth’s commitment to exceed expectations for patient care,” said Marla Silliman, senior vice president, TriHealth Regional Operations. “In order to achieve this certification, The Joint Commission requires hospitals to have specific abilities to care for patients with the most complex stroke diagnoses. It is a rigorous process, which our team undertook to ensure the very best care for our patients.”

To maintain status as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, hospitals are required to track, monitor and report patient outcomes. This establishes safeguards that TriHealth puts in place for patients. TriHealth is committed to exceeding expectations for care, quality, service, value and convenience.

Offered in collaboration with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, achieving Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification demonstrates our dedication to evaluating and evolving stroke care.

In order to become a CSC hospital, TriHealth has ensured the following services for our patients:

• Neuroscience intensive care unit, with neurocritical care physicians

• Comprehensive and current diagnostic and evidence-based treatment services

• Neurosurgical services 24/7

• Participation in clinical research

• Nurses are required to obtain 8 hours per year of stroke education

TriHealth has other locations certified in stroke care by The Joint Commission:

• Bethesda North Hospital – Primary Stroke Center

• Bethesda Butler Hospital – Acute Stroke Ready

• Good Samaritan Western Ridge – Acute Stroke Ready

• Bethesda Arrow Springs – Acute Stroke Ready
