New Emergency Department Coming to Bethesda Butler County
June 28, 2012 - TriHealth announced they have broken ground on a new 10,500 square-foot emergency department at TriHealth’s Bethesda Butler County Hospital located at 3075 Hamilton Mason Road in Hamilton. The new emergency department will be attached to the imaging center and surgery building. Expanded cardiac services will also be housed in the center which will include new space for cardiologists and cardiac imaging.
“This is an investment in improving the health of the residents in Butler and surrounding counties,” said John Prout, President and Chief Executive Officer of TriHealth. “Excellent medical care is vital to the growth of a community.”
When completed, emergency department will have 17 emergency room beds and will be staffed by the same board-certified, experienced emergency room physicians who work at Bethesda North Hospital. TriHealth acquired Bethesda Butler County Hospital on March 1, 2012 and is expected to add approximately 40 new jobs with the majority of the positions in the emergency, registration, lab and imaging departments. The new emergency department will have a helipad for the transport of critically ill patients and will be supported by a full suite of diagnostic services onsite as well as surgical and inpatient care.

This partnership is allowing us to grow the services and extend the quality care we provide on this campus to even more people in the area. This partnership also means we are linked to the entire TriHealth system. So no matter where you are, you can expect to receive expert, quality care based on your personal health history and needs.”
Construction is expected to begin in early July and the new emergency department is expected to open in the first quarter of 2013.
“We want the residents of Butler County to have the most efficient access to emergency care, specialty care and medical technology. This new emergency department will allow us to provide that access to care, by qualified physicians and nurses, 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” added Prout.
Bethesda Inc. acquired the Butler County Surgery Center on March 1, 2012.
