TriHealth Brings Advanced Heart Diagnostics to Cincinnati
TriHealth, a leading Cincinnati-based integrated health system, was instrumental in bringing to Cincinnati advanced 3D modeling in the diagnosing of coronary artery disease, providing patients advanced technology in treating the leading cause of death for men and women in the U.S.

Using the new HeartFlow® FFRCT Analysis, TriHealth physicians can take data from a patient’s standard, non-invasive coronary CT scan and apply algorithms to produce a personalized, color-coded 3D model of their coronary arteries. This model bypasses the limitations of traditional coronary artery disease diagnostic tests and offers patients and their doctors detailed information about arterial blockages and their impact on blood flow to the heart.

“Too many times, we don’t have enough diagnostic information to know if a patient truly has coronary artery disease and we send them to the Cath Lab for a more invasive procedure,” said Asimul Ansari, TriHealth Heart Institute cardiologist. “The rich imaging of the CT combined with the HeartFlow® FFRCT Analysis allows us to diagnose and treat a patient with fewer tests and less false positives.”

Coronary artery disease is the leading cause of death for men and women throughout the country, and the data provided from the HeartFlow® FFRCT Analysis will further inform the specific treatment plans developed for patients.

In addition to HeartFlow® FFRCT Analysis, TriHealth offers other expansive diagnostic tests at locations throughout Cincinnati to help identify and treat cardiovascular disease, including:

  • Echocardiography testing
  • EKG
  • Holter monitoring
  • Nuclear medicine testing
  • Stress testing
  • Vascular studies

This sophisticated technology, in concert with the skills of TriHealth’s specially trained staff, provides patients with quick results and plans to treat coronary disease.
