The Importance of Travel Vaccines

TriHealth recently opened a Travel Vaccine & Preventative Care Clinic this past summer. Located in Montgomery, Ohio, the goal of the Clinic is to provide you a full-service location to help keep you and your family healthy when travelling abroad and to help you heal from any post-travel illnesses you may have picked up while overseas.

Why are Travel Vaccines Important?

Traveling outside the U.S. can be thrilling, exposing you to new cultures, foods, and experiences. However, it also exposes you to potential health risks. Approximately 2,000 cases of malaria are diagnosed in the U.S. each year, primarily from travel to countries with known malaria transmission. Additionally, entry requirements for various countries can change quickly, as seen during the recent pandemic. At TriHealth, we aim to keep you safe during your travels by providing comprehensive travel consultations and vaccinations.

What Can You Expect from a Travel Medicine Consultation?

Our healthcare team at TriHealth’s Travel Vaccine & Preventative Care Clinic provides an individualized care plan based on your travel destinations. This includes:

  • Assessing your health history
  • Recommending necessary vaccines
  • Prescribing prophylactic medications
  • Educating you on travel health
  • Evaluating any post-travel illnesses
