Health Talk Live: How Hospitals are Handling the COVID-19 Surge

The current surge of COVID-19 puts additional strain on hospitals as they are seeing a record number of admissions due to the virus. In this segment of TriHealth’s Health Talk Live, Local 12’s Liz Bonis speaks with TriHealth’s Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations for the Good Samaritan Region, Marla Santos Silliman, who discusses aspects of dealing with the surge, including balancing of patient loads, bed availability and ensuring adequate staffing. She also shares some information about the patient population during the surge, including comparison to numbers during the summer surge and differences in ages of patients being hospitalized.
