TriHealth Provides Health Screenings at 20th Annual 'Closing the Health Gap Expo' in Washington Park
April 30, 2024

The Center for Closing the Health Gap hosted its 20th Annual Health Expo in Washington Park this past Saturday, April 27th – and TriHealth was happy to be there in full force!

Much like our own TriHealth Center for Health Equity, the Center for Closing the Health Gap is a non-profit organization committed to raising awareness about – and eliminating – racial and socioeconomic health disparities across Greater Cincinnati.

Despite preconceptions that an individual’s behavior solely determines their health status, we know that social determinants of health or outside sources such as income & unemployment, food access, health care, parks and physical activity, safe housing, environmental quality, education, and transportation can have major impacts on health outcomes.

This health care expo is one effort of many to care for our community, regardless of their status.

Due to this, team member volunteers not only operated an educational booth, but also provided various baseline health screenings for members of the community – including blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) checks, genetic testing and more.

TriHealth Mobile Mammography Van even made an appearance, providing breast cancer screenings to women in attendance!

In addition to screenings, there was also a push to help those without a primary care physician connect with our own TriHealth providers to get on the path to better care and better health!

TriHealth team members, physicians, leaders and even executives such as President & CEO Mark Clement and COO Terri Hanlon-Bremer stopped by, taking in the nice weather and sharing in the festivities.

Building a culture of belonging and fostering trusted relationships among our diverse community is a vital part of the work being done by everyone at TriHealth, and we always love opportunities to connect directly with the people we serve.

We want to give a huge thanks to everyone who volunteered their time and helped make the Health Expo such a fun and successful event for our community – Can’t wait for next year!
