Breastfeeding
One of the most important decisions you will make during pregnancy is whether to breastfeed or to bottle
feed. Whichever method you choose, Bethesda North and Good Samaritan hospitals have knowledgeable professionals available
to assist you.
The staff nurses at Bethesda North and Good Samaritan have had training to help you get started with breastfeeding and international board certified lactation consultants are available to see breastfeeding mothers during their stay in the hospital.
If you choose to breastfeed, remember that it is a learned art and is not always easy in the beginning. For this reason, we provide a phone line, (513) 862-7867, for you to call to have your questions answered once you have left our care. And you can always refer to our breastfeeding guide if you need more information.
In addition, we provide classes on basic breastfeeding and how to juggle breastfeeding and returning to work. We also offer outpatient lactation services that include consultations by appointment, a breast pump rental station and a retail store for breast pumps and breastfeeding accessories.
