Dr. Rachel Thomas puts a high priority on patient care and talking with her patients so they understand their health needs better. For years, she saw how doctors treated her family, either talking over their heads or down to them, and knew she wanted to do better. Her grandfather’s death from pancreatic cancer when she was in college greatly impacted the kind of doctor she wanted to be. She believes in taking care of the whole person, through a broad spectrum of health and illness, which led her to specialize in internal medicine.
Dr. Thomas sees patients for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness. She also provides personalized counseling for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. She creates a friendly and nonjudgmental environment where she urges her patients to be honest and open about their concerns. She encourages everyone to take care of themselves by losing a little weight, exercising and drinking water.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Dr. Thomas and her husband have a new baby. They love traveling to ride new roller coasters. She also enjoys walking, running, swimming and spending time with their bulldog.
