With a lifelong desire to help underserved and often maligned populations, Dr. Peter Tran decided to become a doctor. He chose to specialize in infectious diseases because these populations often have issues with underlying infections. He truly appreciates being able to make a difference in people’s lives and seeing his patients get better.
Dr. Tran diagnoses and treats adult patients with infectious diseases and complicated infections. He has a special interest in treating HIV and hepatitis C. He believes in meeting patients where they are, taking the time to understand their situations and addressing their concerns in a way that best serves their needs. He puts patients at ease, helping them feel open to talk about behaviors that might influence their health. He encourages everyone to walk 20 minutes a day to live better.
A California native, Dr. Tran met his wife, a labor and delivery nurse from Ohio, during his residency. They have one child. He loves playing chess, hiking with his family, traveling and cheering for Los Angeles sports teams.
