Many people who choose to undergo weight loss surgery have done extensive research on the available procedures. If one of your patients asks for a referral for weight loss surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital, have them call (513) 862-4957 to schedule to attend a free patient information seminar. Here, they will receive a comprehensive overview about the many facets of our program and have the opportunity to meet members of our team.
As an American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS) Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, our program has been recognized nationally for providing quality care to patients. Care in our program is provided by a multidisciplinary medical team of nurses, dietitians, exercise physiologists, and mental health providers.
Together, our team guides patients through pre-surgery education and screening, the weight loss surgery, and a two-year post-surgery program that focuses on monitoring your patients' success and helping with their lifestyle changes. It includes:
- Personal consultation and evaluation by a bariatric surgeon
- One-on-one education by bariatric nurses
- Nutritional education and counseling before and after surgery to reinforce new eating habits
- Monthly support group meetings for both preoperative and postoperative patients
- Frequent medical checkups to monitor health and weight loss progress
