The Good Samaritan Weight Management Center offers monthly informational seminars and support groups for gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and Lap-Band patients. Search for an upcoming event in the calendar below.
Informational Seminars
To be considered for weight loss surgery, you must either attend an information seminar or view our video seminar. This two-hour seminar is provided by the bariatric care team including the surgeon, dietitian, exercise physiologist and bariatric coordinators. You will have the opportunity to get detailed information about bariatric surgery and ask any questions you may have. Reservations are required. Call (513) 862-4957 or email us to reserve a spot.
The video seminar is approximately 45 minutes long and covers all of the information presented at the in-person seminars. It is available instead of -- or in addition to -- the in-person seminars. There are three ways to access the video:
- View the online seminar: You will be asked to fill out a form before you view the video. You do not have to fill out the form to watch the video. If you do not wish to provide your information, simply click "submit." Please note, however, that when you provide us with your information it helps us follow up with you at a later date and answer any questions you may have.
- Request a DVD: Send us an email and we will put it in the mail to you.
- Watch on Time Warner On Demand: Using your digital cable remote control, go to Channel 1403. Select Healthcare>Weight Management.
If you decide you want a physician consultation after watching the video seminar, please print and complete the necessary patient forms. You will need to bring the completed forms with you to your office visit.
Support Group Meetings
The changes in your diet and lifestyle after surgery will last a lifetime. And you'll have a greater chance of long-term success if you surround yourself with people who understand and support your goals.
We have separate support group meetings for gastric bypass/sleeve gastrectomy and Lap-Band patients. No reservation is required. For more information, call (513) 862-4957.
